9-5 Aero Blue Smoke on Start Up

I purchased a 2002 9-5 Aero back in March and have had no problems with it. However, it finally got cold here in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, and the first time I started it up in the cold a big cloud of blue smoke shot out of the tail pipe. After about 5-10 seconds it stopped and normal exhaust came out. Every start up since then has been fine, until it sat for about 2 days and did the same thing. Cloud of blue smoke upon cold start, and then fine.
Is this something I should be worried about or have something checked out? I really hope it doesn't mean oil is leaking into the engine.
Also, I have noticed that the engine oil goes down over the course of an oil change. By the time 3,000 miles comes around I have to put in around 3/4 of a quart of oil to fill it back up. Is this normal?
