Lots of questions........ Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 18 Dec 2009 04:03:40 In Reply to: Suspension woes, Shawn95, Thu, 17 Dec 2009 21:37:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Re-alignments are necessary after replacement of any front suspension locating member; strut, ball joint, steering knuckle. Whoever performed the steering knuckle replacement should have had the car re-aligned before it was released to you!
How can the strut and steering knuckle even be connected if out of position by that much? Did they install the correct part? Did they install an Opel or Saturn part by mistake?
Why did you need a new steering knuckle? That is a pretty heavy-duty chunk of iron. Is it possible whatever damaged the steering knuckle caused undiagnosed unibody damage too? Or is the strut damaged?
Why can't the alignment be performed? Is it because it is too far out of position, or because the Alignment Shop doesn't have SAAB specs in their book or machine?
I would have the car towed to a SAAB Dealer. Or a different Dealer if the steering knuckle repalcement was performed by a Dealer.
