WOW!! What planet are you on that gives such service!! I took my cabin fan to a local electrical motor rebuild shop and they had no interest in even looking at it. "Bad attitude" in place of "good aptitude".. Anyway, I managed to get another 6 months of fan use by manually sanding down the pittted commutator with a popsicle stick and emery cloth pushed down through the brush holder and manually turning the motor. I also rerouted the existing brush leads out the back end of the brush holder as they had hung up on the slot in the brush holder side. I imagine your fantastic shop likely turned the commutator on a lathe to ensure precise uniformity. Manually using a Dremel would probably risk flat spotting the commutator. Eventually, I had to buy a new blower, but I was happy to have fixed to old one for awhile...
So, if your shop wants a whole lot more business, please tell us who and where to contact them!!
Thanx,
Kirk D.
