I'm in the process of dropping a used engine into a 1999 9-5 SE automatic.
The engine came from a 2001 automatic, the only difference between the two is the 99 uses an electric brake vacuum pump, and the 01 uses a mechanical one driven off the cam shaft.
I already know that I can use the mechanical one by using the 3 point hard vacuum lines, but on the 99 there is a small vac line that T's off the hard pipe to a sensor of some sort to the right of the brake booster.
I assume that is a pressure sensor that tells the electric pump to boost the vac as needed.
My question is, can this be disconnected without causing any problems, such as a check engine light?
