Just reposting this fresh, as it seems to have gotten no previous response..
Any thoughts on improving the design (or wear and tear) deficiencies of my 1999 9-5 5 speed tranny at 165 K miles? The shifting seems rubbery sometimes and other times it seems to stick in the shifter gate and other times it is fine. The shifter sometimes refuses to go into reverse when shifting at a standstill to park the car. (I gave away my 1987 900 Turbo when the reverse gear problem got really bad..) I switched to the improved GM/Saab synthetic tranny fluid which seemed to help a little, but the symptoms persist. I hear there are some adjustments available for the 9-5 shifter linkage (I do have the WIS, I suspect a Tech Bulletin has the answer...), but I fear the complete fix is the Saab tranny upgrade kit which I see on Jim Tallifiaro's website, but I'm afraid to ask the price and terrified to think about the labor cost to do the work. And I just had the original clutch replaced 6 months ago...
