Driver's seat moves by itself...

In my family we have 4 SAAB 9-5 vehicles from 1999 to 2001. Two of them are experiencing issues where the driver's seat just inexplicably moves forward or back to the extreme end of the track. One car pushes you to the steering wheel, the other one retracts the seat and the back all the way to the back seat. Anyone see this before? It will do this while driving so it is a major concern. I know about the box under the seat but I can't believe I have a 50% failure on this component. Help!!
