When I drive both back to back the Linear 4-cyl seems smoother. There is a little more vibration at idle which is very typical for any 4-cyl, but once up to speed it seems to me that the 4 with twin balance shafts is smoother, I guess the balance shafts make it think it's a V-8. The Arc V-6 definitely has more intake roar when you step on the throttle and for me, the vibration is busier and coarser. You can also feel the extra weight of the V-6 in the nose. Then there is the matter of the 4 being the genuine Saab engine versus the GM sourced V-6. Add that to the $1,760 price advantage without the visibility or touring packages, another $650 and $895 respectively, and I like the Linear over the Arc, especially if the ventilated seats don't do anything for you. I find the ventilated seats a litter firmer and less comfortable. As for the V-6 having more punch out of the hole, I agree, but the new 5-speed automatic compensates a little more for this difference.
