I "think" the camshaft position sensor on the V6 is mounted differently than the crankshaft position sensor on the L4. But I will defer to others with V6 experience.
On the L4, my Rube Goldberg arrangement of bits and adapters is not necessary if you can get access from the bottom side. Although dropping the turbo down-pipe for ease of bottom access may be even more troublesome than the difficult topside access.
