Weeping from rear of A/C compressor

While the car was in the air for the CPS job I checked around to for general problems. I noticed some obvious oil on the rear of the A/C compressor. I'm pretty sure the A/C compressor is immediately to the left of the CPS sensor, and the lowest of the serpentine belt driven devices at the front of the car. What am I looking at here? Can the compressor leak oil from the rear? I can't really test the A/C due to frigid temperatures on Long Island now.
