To anybody that has read my post - hear is the result after much testing, ready and analysing.

I think I've solved it, time will tell for sure.

Unfortunately I changed 2 things without testing in between...

I'd fitted a new CPS about a year ago (previous problem but didn't fix it) and have recently checked and monitored it's resistance reading. Far too high when hot (around 1122 ohms), so I was tempted to put the old one (which read OK cold) back in. This was duly done today. I did notice in changing it over that first attempt it didn't seat fully home (so difficult to tell with limited access) you can feel if it's home by the gap between the block and CPS not there.

Whilst I was changing that the by pass valve and pipes were removed for ease of access. On reassembly I changed the 'O' ring on the by pass valve's pipe connection into the 'Cobra' intake pipe. I think I changed it before but with something that fitted OK but not pucka, the one I put back I believe was the original one - it was green.

Anyway on the test drive the car felt quite different, pulled cleaner in the lower revs, didn't feel lumpy on the over run and cruising at 30 odd mph was normal.

I feel it was the CPS, but some parts could of been the 'O' ring. I'd like to try the old 'O' ring back in just to prove a point.....

The car is finally (almost - there's always some minor issue) running as an Aero should :-)
