Ian. I recently replaced my rear shocks with the Monroe's. They seem more than adequate for my 1999 wagon. I also replaced the rear springs at the same time so this may have a bearing on their performance. When compared to the removed Sachs { compressing them side by side with hand pressure] the Monroe's were initially softer but became stiffer very quickly. One of the removed shocks was completely dead [right side] after 60,000km aprox, the opposing side was fine. The shocks on my 2001 wagon had the left fail completely and the right was fine.Replacing the springs was in all likely hood not necessary. In short the sens i track are fine by me to date. You can replace them 3-4 time for the same price as one change of the next cheapest ones. Not that i think that would be the case.Others may disagree but each to there own based on experience. Cheers Doug
