Not for nutin, but I have started tinkering with my 194k baby and removed the oil trap. I know the V6s aren't known for the PCV issues, but hey. Other than the caked on gunk inside which would be impossible to clean out, I noticed that the smaller nipple to the TB was absolutely clogged up. No compressed air was getting past it.
So, I took a small brass pick to get the thick stuff out then some (smoking) pipe cleaning rods with some brake cleaner sprayed on it and began working that through. Then pushed some compressed air through there and finally shown some light through the bottom and finally could see through the nipple which leads to the TB.
I won't reinstall it until tomorrow, but hopefully it calms out the idle and we'll see what other effect it might have.
The little rubber flap at the bottom looks a little stiff after all these miles, but still functional.
Just FYI for all you V6ers out there because there are only a few oil trap posts that I could find.
