Last night I got hit from behind by a cabbie. The light turned green and he stepped on it despite the fact that I was in front of him. Anyway, the car didn't do the back and forth rock but there was a definite crunching sound.
I came out all looks well except for one of the backup sensors which sunk into the depths of the bumper assembly. And the black surround must have snapped a clip because, while still flush and attached, it's slightly loose. Also, my bumper, when you apply downward palm force at the trunk opening, makes a crunching sound. Knowing how these things end up I got into a 20 minute shouting match, during which the cabbie failed at various scare tactics, and eventually exchanged information. I wanted a report, to protect myself so I called the Police. I made him wait there for close to an hour and then gave up. Filed a claim over the phone with his ins and drove home.
FOUR HOURS LATER, I get a call from the bacon.
PD: PD, where are you
me: Home
PD: Oh, ok.
me: I called for a car 4 hours and 17 minutes ago, I waited for a bit as no less than a dozen other squad cars passed by and then went home
PD: Oh, sorry.
Always something!
