Back at the beginning of the year 9-3's were $349 and 9-5's were $419. Then 9-3's went all the way down to $269 and 9-5's to $399, so it cost $130 a month more for a 9-5. Now in April it's back up to $299 for 9-3's (still a great deal) and down to an incredible $359 for 9-5's so it's only $60 a month more for a 9-5.
Both 9-3 and 9-5 leases are keyed to a base 5-speed car, $29,095 and $34,620 respectively, but with a base 9-5 you still get all kinds of stuff you don't get in a 9-3 without the premium package, such as free 3/36 maintenance, full leather seats, power passenger seat, "ACC" digital climate control which are 9-3 premium package items. So the non-premium 9-5 isn't lacking some important stuff like the non-premium 9-3 is.
True you have to pay more for automatic, premium package and metallic colors, but the rates and dealer cash that make $359 possible apply to any 9-5 Linear. And it's a fabulous car, go for it!
Saab chooses to give the best overall deal on a lease, whether or not you plan on keeping the car after the lease. You can get a hefty discount for cash or your own financing OR 0% financing, but it's either or. With the lease Saab gives you both a hefty discount and a low rate. Only if you drive way too many miles is the lease a bad deal as you would be forced to purchase the car or pay the 20 cents a mile penalty on turn in. Ad Saab leases offer a generous 12,000 miles a year and 15,000 is only a small increase.
