All you need to do with directional tires to even out the treadwear is to have them "flipped". The tire comes off the wheel, and is "flipped" so that what was the outside edge, is now the inside edge. The wheel/tire is then balanced, and put back on the car on the opposite side. So your right side tires become your left side tires. And they're still rolling in the same direction.
It can be a mind bender for the tire guy the first time, but it works...
Used to do it all the time on my C900 when I ran Bridgestone Potenza RE-71 tires...
