Today, I went to the NY Auto Show and saw the new 9-5. Now, Saab is offering a car that is competitive with the Audi A6.

I was able to sit in the car and look in the trunk. I learned that the hood was not being raised on the one 9-5 because it has a diesel engine in it and the other one (the Aero) was a preproduction model. Although there were no brochures available, one of the Saab reps there was able to provide a lot of information as follows (re the Aero.

1. Engine: 2.8L V6 300hp 295 ft/lbs of torque.
2. Length: 197"
3. Weight: Over 4,000 lbs.
4. OnStar: Included
5. Bluetooth: Included
6. Heater controls: three separate controls...driver, front passenger and rear seat passengers
7. Airbags: All over the place
8. Head lights: BiXenon with automatic adjustment both vertically and horizontally
9. Front seat legroom: More
10. 245 X 40 X 19
11. Body height on Aero is 10mm lower
12. AWD: Included with anti-slip rear differential
13. Ignition Key between the front seats: Gone, replaced by a big fat START button. The key is actually a keyless electronic fob that contains a transducer.
14. Hand brake: Replaced by a button
15. Fit and finish: Definitely a big step up over the current 9-5
16. Car styling: Very nice; easy to like.
17. Price: Aero loaded...$50K
18. Front suspension: New design for the Aero

I think I got all of the facts that I was given. If you post questions, I'll respond to all at once after a few days.
