Follow up to belt squeal after idler/belt replacement

Again, I'm learning on the fly with the internet as my co-pilot on this one. My experience comes from my other car, a 9000 Aero, so some things are familiar and other things are downright confusing.
After my idelr pulley/tensioner and long belt relpacement, there was still a horrible belt squeal at idle and while driving. Very hard for me to diagnose. Removed and re-installed the belt several times. Fondled the pulleys to feel for roughness. Nothing. THEN, I noticed some slight play in the lowest accessory near the front.
I used the instructions from
w w w scribd doc/23134799/Water-Pump-Replacement
Turns out, one of the bolts that holds the bracket for the power steering pump had sheared off in the block.
So there I am for now. Guess I'll buy a fresh water pump to install while I'm in there. It's been kind of a lot of work to do, learning as I go. Not difficult, but you do need to yank off a lot of things. Pulling the headlight out was a handy tip I read in here that has helped on several bolts.
Now my next hold-up is determining if I can fit an easy out onto the block while the engine is in the car. The $900 purchase price is sort of coming back to haunt me; oh well.
