Why do we drive 9-5's?

I am sure this topic has been well reviewed but since I am new to the board I figured I would ask it-
I have a 06 9-5 Aero (sport) and although I love the turbo feel, seats, engaging cockpit, and exterior, I hate the rattles, cheap GM plastic interior bits, terrible dealer network, and poor resale. The only car I ever considered over the 9-5 was a used 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro with 98k on the clock (last year).
Ingolstadt knows interiors and the quattro was solid at even almost 100k miles. The Audi's feel of the road and driving dynamics is much better than my 06 Aero even with 100k on the clock. Plus the car's 8 year old interior still looked new. My 4 year old Aero's interior has suffered (plastic interior trim pieces peeling, etc). I purchased the 9-5 because I became emotionally attached to it the first time I sat in the car.
WHY do we buy these cars? Would love to hear your opinions and stories.
So why did I go SAAB? Why do any of us drive these machines?
