And there is more..... Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Newbie wtih some questions on 02 Aero Wagon., Stephen Goldberger, Sun, 18 Apr 2010 07:57:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1) The '02 Aero and the '04 ARC have similar engines.
2) The '02 Aero and the '04 ARC have different suspensions. The Aero is 10mm lower and firmer, more sporty, all around.
3) The '02 Aero has highly contoured front bucket seats.
4) The wheels and tires are different:
- The '02 Aero was built with 225X45X17 tires
- The '04 ARC was built with 215X55X16 tires
I had a '00 Aero since replaced with a 2007 Aero. My wife has a '04 ARC. The Aero and the ARC are different; you should try both to see which best suites your taste.
I would try to get into an '04 or later solely for the reason that so many internal improvements were made.....without regards to Aero versus ARC.
IMHO the automatic trans in the '04 or later should not be dismissed versus the manual box. I've had manual Saab's since 1967; my wife's '04 ARC automatic made me do a complete about face; it simply gives up nothing to the manual re performance, economy or reliability. My wife's '04 auto trans ARC gets 34-36 mpg on the open road.
