Hi all, thanks in advance for any assistance.
I took my '02 lpt 9-5 with 86k into the dealer at the last minute to find and fix the source of an oil leak before I headed out of town for a week with the other family car. They took care of it with the pcv #6 fix. At the same time, they said the turbo bypass valve wasn't opening all the way and I should consider getting it fixed relatively soon but its not critical.
I put on about 100 miles in a week, all very tame city driving with no highway. Friday on my way to work, CEL came on with p1110 which I figured was the bpv. On my way home, I hopped on the highway for the first time, accelerate down the ramp, then *poof* giant looming cloud of white/blue smoke from the tailpipe. The car would only let out this puff after letting up off a hard acceleration.
I get home, pop the hood. The oil level is at max but doesn't look overfilled. The oil is very dark and smells scorched. Also, I noticed the vacuum hose on the bpv was off--not cracked or broken--just off. Any chance the hose could be shot off on its own from a bad bpv, or did the dealer not reconnect?
I have the new bpv in hand and was going to replace and change oil. Is there a chance the disconnected bpv blew up my turbo? Any thoughts would be helpful.
