Cassette adapters work well, though sometimes head alignment can give you stereo imaging issues.
There are articles on the web to "mod" your head unit to accept a tape in.
You can also look around for an "Audio Troll" auxiliary input on eBay. The company is out of business, though. This model works very well. Avoid the other model of Audio Troll that also controls the iPod. It doesn't work with an iPhone at all, and the software was never stable to the point where there were no dropouts, or even out and out freezes. Besides, the interface on the iPod/iPhone is better.
