It's called a jalousie believe it or not. Put the shifter in D and look for the tiny screw under the forward lip of the knob. Remove that screw and seperate the two halves of the shifter. Because it's a 99 I think you might have to unsolder the sport button. Once you get the back part of the shifter out of the way, there is a clip attached to the thin metal rod running up the middle of the front half of the shifter. Remove this clip and the rest of the shifter will come loose. Be careful of the wires for the sport button when you are going back together.
