Pour out any left over brake fluid.
Get a quart/liter of denatured alcohol and put 1/3 to 1/2 of it in the tank. Swirl it around real good and it seems to get any brake fluid residue off the walls of the tank. Then I put the cap on and pump the tank up and the fluid is pumped out through the cap. This cleans out the hose and cap. Pour out any remaining alcohol, then leave the cap off and let what's left evaporate.
It's a slight nuisance but is really quite easy. Takes 5 minutes.
