Just to let you know, the head end is a Pioneer and the AMP is a HK. Also, these units are Mated with the car. To replace the head end, it has to be divorced with a TECH II and then mated with a TECH II. This is for the Head End, not for the AMP. The AMP is NOT mated.
Yes, get some removal tools and reset the Head End. Make sure contacts are clean, not bent, and the metal cage is good.
Also, the head end is the same for the HK and non HK systems. The AMP and speakers are different (better).
