Lower seat fan problem

1999 9-5 power adjustable seats. fan-vented seats. driver side. bottom fan under the seat.
scenario: when seat is all the down to lowest level (where I like it) and I sit in the seat (unavoidable) the bottom seat fan cuts out. the back-of-seat fan stays on. if I raise the seat about an inch, it will not cut out on me when I sit in it. I cannot reproduce by pushing on any part of the seat while out of the seat trying to look underneath. only when my full 200lbs is in it! I also tried from front and back underneath pulling, mashing, tugging, etc on the wiring to see if there is a pinch or loose connection. might be and cannot locate. was thinking maybe a wire is getting pinched. could it be something else? the seat is worn for sure at 148k miles but not too terrible. does the fan have a back pressure relief switch or something crazy like that?!? any ideas or experiences is appreciated. right now I am at a loss. also, if I sit in it but shift my weight to the front half or back half only it will come back on. it's definitely cutting off (not just reducing air flow).
I do plan to try it with my much lighter wife or kids in the seat soon.
