Saab runs the oil temperature on the 9-5 at a relatively high 220F to reduce sludge. For synthetic oils with a high VI number, each step in grade corresponds to a 40F temperature difference. You should use something that ends in a "40" all the time.
Mobil 5W40 is a diesel oil, for better or worse. There are compelling reasons for using diesel oil (you could search), but if you want to be picky picky picky, you will find that diesel oils generally do not carry an ACEA A/B rating. In that case, Mobil 1 10W40 would be a good choice for the summer. Castrol 5W40 is an obvious choice, but since it's made by BP I recommend boycotting it. Mobil 1 0W40 is *just barely* a 40 weight in the bearings (where it really counts) and only qualifies there because SAE makes an exception for multi-grade oil.
