Reman Bosch ABS controller. Now what? Posted by Dano in Texas [Email] ![]() ![]() |
2004 9-5 Aero wagon, 70,000 miles. Last summer I started getting the ABS off, TCS off and warning triangle infrequently on start up. Turn off the ignition and restart and no problem. Last summer was especially hot in southern Texas. Over the fall-winter I didn't experience a single instance of the TCS-ABS problem. When the weather started warming up again this spring, the start up problem returned and even happened once while driving.
I pulled the Bosch ABS controller and sent to BBA reman and reinstalled. For a while no problems and then the TCS-ABS off indications on start up again. After reading many posts here, I am led to believe it could be a wiring problem or faulty wheel sensor. I am ready to take it in to the dealer for diagnosis. Does the fact that this problem so far has only occurred in hot weather point to any particular thing that should be looked at? Can the Tech 2 device at the dealer correctly diagnose the root problem? Am I looking at a long and expensive diagnosis before it can be fixed? Thanks for any insight.
BTW, I love this car and to date it has been the most reliable, sporty and comfortable car I have ever owned.
