I got a CEL with codes p0455 and p0452 on my 2003 9-5 Linear sedan. My mechanic traced the evap leak to the seal or boss around the gas tank pressure sensor. He wants to replace the gas tank as the seal is apparantly welded plastic - I'm sure this is the "correct" remedy but is an expensive proposition.
1. Is there a solvent/fuel resistant silicone or epoxy product for use on plastic fuel tanks that I can slather around the sensor and hopefully seal the leak?
2. Is there a way to fool the computer into believing the pressure is good and therefore ignore the leak (and prevent the CEL from coming on)?
3. What are the odds the seal was broken/damaged during the replacement of the fuel pump less than 2 weeks before I got the CEL (the sensor is about 1" from the fuel pump)?
