03 9-5 ARC:
Out in the absolute middle of NOWHERE get a sudden vibration in the front right... What is going on... So I finally get to a place I can safely pull over (50 miles later) and look like I have a CV joint going.. What can I do here in the middle of nowhere... not much, baby it along another 150 miles (I told you I was out in the middle of nowhere). Finally get to a truck stop so I can do some more digging. Turns out that it is not the CV joint. It is the Power Steering pump. Add some fluid and it just pours out the bottom once I start the car up. At this point I figure I have damaged it as much as I am going to.. but tried the stop leak anyways... guess what... it didn't help at all. So I now sit at a hotel with a job interview tomorrow and a car with a busted power steering pump. I will be looking for a mechanic tomorrow morning, but any advice that you can give in regards to what needs be checked beyond the hoses would be most appreciated. Oh and if anyone knows of mechanic in the Turlock CA area I would be appreciative.
One last question... how fast do I need to get the fluid off the bottom of the car and off the paint as it is everywhere.
