These boards.
But really how is an adult supposed to change this switch? I'm 6-2 210 not small but not huge.
Did I forget to ask the parts guy at the dealer for the 5 dollar (hell I woulda paid 50 for one if it exists) brake light switch removal tool? :)
I probably bent the contacts a little getting the new switch on with the socket.
I did get the exact part number you said and it is the switch for the lights. Yes there was a second switch right next to this one, any idea what that is for? Does that connect to the abs system somehow?
Much of my ire is directed at the haynes folks unless the v6 is somehow vastly different but I can't see why. The haynes only covers the 4cyl an it makes very litle mention of what is involve in getting at this area. Even if I had a lift I think some sort of contortion would be necessary. Does anyone have a success story to share with getting into here easily? Yes I did think to push the seat all the way back and I tried tilting the steering wheel to get more acces but it only moved the column about an inch where these switches are. What is that metal curved beam do if it isn't touching the brake pedal? Just seems like it's there to be in the way but I didn't think Swedish engineers would be so cruel!!!!
If you think the second switch might be the issue let me know what ithat switch does. I never had a problem with the lights not coming on when pressing the brake pedal but I thought what the heck if a $20 part could fix the lack of abs somehow it was worth a shot. I didn't know there were two switches in the same area until I finally wedged myself in there. Sorry John I know you meant well and I don't mean to be ungrateful. But f there is a better way to change these switches please share it.
