I did clean everything else thoroughly with brakleen and a brush. But I didnt know the caliper pins would pull all the way out. OK. I will try this. I did use the lub on the backs of the pads. When the rotors were brand new and rough, I thought maybe this was starting to cause the roar and slight vibration. And I hoped as they smoothed, it would go away but seems to actually haven't gotten little worse.
