Rear a/c vent control rod

I was able to figure out why there was no air coming out of the rear seat vents after searching the board. I pulled the passenger kick panel and found the loose rod, than fiddled with it until air came out of those vents. However, I cannot figure out where the other end is supposed to go. Now the ACC cannot close the rear vents automatically. Where does the other end of that rod attach.
Thank you
