symptoms of a failing cat? Posted by Johnson [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I had a long ongoing issue with my car that is well documented here, long story short, I put about 5-700 miles on it while it was misfiring badly, I fixed the missfire, and Tested a different dic, and have new spark plugs and fuel filter in the car. I'm getting a problem with it starting now, where If I just turn the key, and start, it takes a moment to kick over, and it does it very hard, BUT if it doesn't start right away, and i try it again, starts right up. or if I turn the key to ON but not start, and let it sit for just a moment, then it starts with usually little hesitation. also when I'm driving, it seems to sometimes hesitate just a tad, and it sometimes feels like I have a missfire going on, but its been like this for a couple of weeks now, and I am not getting a cel, and I checked for pending codes, nothing.
The spark plugs were driven about 100 miles while it was missfiring bad, could I have damaged them in any way?
is my cat cooked? I thought if it was I would get a cel, or could it be plugged up?
I know i installed my fuel filter correctly, but could there be air in it or something causing issues? maybe the fuel pump was impacted somehow durring the time I had a bad missfire?
Any suggestions would be awesome!
