Front carpet removal is really quite simple. The sill trim just pops out and there are a few push pins here and there and you'll need to detach the seats and lean them back. Other than that the fronts are a 15 min. job to remove. The rear carpet (one piece) is a bit more complicated.
The carpets are hopefully still rubberized on the bottom. They are easy enough to really clean once they are out of the car. With them out you can properly, and more easily, clean the AC drains. You'll be able to really address any water soaked up by the foam floor pads, etc. Good luck. If the carpet isn't torn you will most likely be able to refresh them to an acceptable level. If not, you will know how to take a set out of a junked car.
