I am driving 400 miles to a Saab dealer I trust. Just replaced the water pump. After the repair and one short trip the P 1260 Check Engine came on.
The car had gone into Limp Home signaling a need for water pump and the monkeys that replaced the water pump couldn't figure out how to reset the throttle even with diagrams etc. Now the CEL is on and the idle is a little rough when stopped and sometimes stalls if I'm not careful to keep the RPMs up at stops.
Also, believe it or not, I'm thinking that the aforementioned monkeys re-installed the used serpentine belt. The "used" belt that they gave me looks very new.
Question is what should I do for the 400 mile trip - all highway? Should I fill the tank with premium gas? Should I put any cleaning treatment in the gas tanks. Grateful for all replies from homo sapiens.
