Yeah I have done that on several cars by now.
It is a lot less work than using shims.
After you have removed the wheels you remove the bolt in the upper torque/control arm to wheel and the arm pops up and you can elongate the hole outwards a few mm to achieve a more straight up camber.
You have to remove the clip that holds the nut for the bolt so that the nut can move out with the bolt and hole.
If you don't like the new setting you can always loosen the bolt and allow the wheels to go back to it's original setting.
You still need to have a 4-wheel alignment done by a shop where they know how to align the rear end to make sure Toe in is correct.
