Per the advice of this BB, rather than power washing my car ('00 V6 3l), I got myself a big bottle of simple green and scrubbed all over until I reached literally everything I could, and it certainly looks a lot better and easier to find a leak. I have driven it 5 days since, and took a look under the hood (trying to find the source(s) of the leak). I found a few interesting things:

1) There is a puddle, hard to estimate but I'd say 1/3 cup, of oil sitting on the back of my tranny. This location is almost directly underneath the PCV valve, towards the oil trap. It is just sitting there, and it's still fluid and clean.

2) There is oil dripping down the back of the oil pan (same side of as the drain plug) right onto the ground; also, strangely also oil dripping near the firewall area (yes, it's oil). I'm assuming it's leaking on the frame and sliding down to reach that point. Strange.

3) Lastly, there seems to be a small bit of oil around the area where the throttle cable connects to the intake. I'm guessing this is the throttle body? My lower coolant hose and some electronic wires around there feel very greasy.

The smoke appears to be burning off the exhaust components somewhere down there, and the majority of smoke comes up between where the turbo and tranny sit. Any ideas on what's going on? Obviously something is leaking oil badly..

P.S. I called the DFW dealer and described the situation and he mentioned that they replace a lot of brake pumps which allegedly burn oil;; makes no sense whatsoever to me.

Thanks so very much, I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate this board and the people in it. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful SAAB community.
