If you are ever rear-ended, the head rests in the seats deploy to protect you from whiplash. The great thing is the deployment is mechanical and can be reset by the dealer. The person who hit us from behind was going about 35mph, the car absorbed the impact very well. Yes, 2008 was the first year for the W204 body style and I agree, it is a very handsome car indeed! I always catch myself admiring it. The only thing I don't like about it is the Service B, what a rip off! They charged me almost $700 for it then called me while the car was in the shop and told me that I should also change the brake fluid and air filter for another $300! On the flip side though, the service department is superb, I can bring my car in anytime and have it cleaned for free and they have also repaired my tires twice at no charge and they always offer me a MB loaner. They gave me a brand new GLK last time. I was going to get a snow tire package, but for the same price I bought an old Nissan Sentra so the MB stays in the garage unless the roads are dry. You should have no trouble in the snow with 4Matic. I love the new 9-5 so I continue trolling this board for more information on it.
