More comfortable relatively speaking. I gave upfor the night hopefully I can finish tomorrow before work.
I had the switch installed to the bracket, but without the green connector. I couldnt get the green connector on so I removed the switch to test the connection again.
I see now that te switch I pulledfrom the car has 5 part numbers not 3.
On one side it is stamped 90 243 815, 90 244 648, 90 307 473. On the other side, 90 337 607, 90 245 780.
The scantech box, from the new switch says GM 90 243 815 but the switch itself is not stamped with this number. The box also has alfa Romeo and daewoo leganza part numbers - quite an eclectic mix! If you hold the old switch so it has the plastic T in the middle of the metal contacts vertical, like the letter T right side up, then the other side that ha the "plunger" with the two protrusions on eiter side (so that it fits into the darned hole in the bracket one way only - gosh I hate this setup!) is horiztontal so it looks like " oOo". The new switch, if you looked at te plunger side the same way, has the T on it's side so it's 90 degrees off. Therefore the green connector, which ha a yellow thing on one side pointing towards the other infamous brakelight switch, would now be pointed 90 degrees off from where it was. If I could get it on.
Worst case, can I drive it somewhere without the switch installed and let a real mechanic finish the job?
