I bought a full size Saab brand pump from GenuineSaab 4 years ago. I've sort of been putting this job off for a while........
Actually I tried 4 years ago and couldn't get the Turbo inlet pipe calmp loose. With a ball heard Torx bit and a wobble extension today this part was easy. Consistent higher than diesired temp gage readings in stop-and-go traffic this summer, combined with the tiny aluminum flakes in the doolant I drained out, indicate the pump has internal problems. No leaks or wobbly bushing, but I think the evidence is indicaitng excessive internal wear.
I got everything loose except the banjos. I didn't want to risk buggering up the heads any worse. By the time th car gets to the Indy the PB Blast will have had a week to work its magic. Plus they may have a couple tricks that I don't know.
