SUV's in my area and snow...

I got a kick out of your post. In my area, guess what vehicles dot the ditches and medians (especially I64/I75)? Yep -, that is right - SUVs.
I think the whole problem is that these moms (and let me tell you, I have seen a fair share of dads along the roads) think they are invincible in their big honkin' SUVs. They fly along like their ride height and size is somehow going to magically prevent them from sliding on snow and ice. They are not only a danger to themselves - but their ignorance jeopardizes me and my family. Pickups are no different - most of them fly around and I would be willing to bet that the majority don't even put their trucks in 4 wheel drive - so they are actually worse off than a front wheel drive car.
Actually makes me cringe. To me, a good front wheel drive car (especially a SAAB) will get you anywhere in the snow. If you give me the argument of the depth of snow - if the snow is that deep, mom (nor dad) should be out on the road to begin with.
