I love the MXV4 Primacy - still have 1/3 tread after 42K on my 01 LPT and I drive pretty hard... what is the cost/mile on that?... they are also smooth, amazingly quiet and get great mpg. Handling good but soft on turn-in. Ok by me - I love these tires. Only had them in light snow once and they were Ok - I suspect they won't be great in deep snow due to the tread design.
I also have the Exalto A/S on my 04 Arc and they are more responsive in corners but you put up with more ongoing noise and thumping over road irregularities. And I got the damn thing completely sideways coming over the Donner pass this Spring in 6" slushy snow so I rate the Exalto only fair for winter use.
Ultimately you have to decide what is more important. Performance, quiet ride or winter capability - you can't have it all. If I had my choice I would have the MXV4 Primacy on everything because I hate road noise and live in a climate that rarely sees snow (Sacramento, CA and Portland, OR).
