9-5 sedan rear dash... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Tue, 21 Sep 2010 07:42:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
(or "back dash" if you're from the south...)
I've installed my rear sunshade on my 2000 9-5, but in order to get the shade mounted to the back dash carpeted panel, I needed to remove it. When I removed it, no matter how careful I was, I broke the vent piece at the far rear. Seems Saab uses tenacious fasteners to hold that thing into the body at the back, and to the trim panel.
Somehow, I managed to do this on my 2002 a couple years ago, and didn't break anything. Last night, I tried to get the panel from my silver '99, but broke that one too.
Anyone know a trick for getting that out? The vent piece is not a separate part from the panel, and Saab wants $2-$300 for a replacement panel...
This one is a 2000, with the child seat tethers and their little hatches, so if you've got one, or know where one could be located, contact me off list. Actually, all I need is the vent piece. I figure double-stick tape will hold it...
