Thanks for the reply John,
The gear indicator shows R when in "reverse". Initially when I had the selector cable connected to the NSS and transmission I did not have it right on. Last night I double checked my attachment and it appears I have it right. When the shift lever is in Park position the car is locked in Park. I can go through the gears and R, N, and D are in alignment and the dash indicator is right. Car moves in D, is in Neutral when in N, and is locked in P. Also there is no CEL indication that something is off. One thing that is odd though is that I do not think I am able to get into 1 gear. This may be indication of two possibilities - one is I am off in my positioning, two is that the NSS is not the right one?
I did some reviews today on transmission approaches on the board - flushing may be something I should look into, also perhaps use Seafoam tram tune before changing the fluid. Right now the fluid does not appear that dirty and I have driven over 1K since changing the fluid. I am new to the auto tranny world and as you can see learning rapidly.
Thanks for the assistance.
Pete
