9-5 wagon, immobilized, ignition switch? Not sure.

Hi,
I own a 2000 9-5 Wagon, 125k miles.
The car will not start. The lights come on, head lights are strong and 15 minutes on cables to another car did nothing for it. (didnt think it was the battery, but had to try anyway) It does not crank, turn over, anything.
There is no "Key not accepted" on the SID.
I saw a "Servive Theft Alarm" message on the SID while driving before it died. (later that day)
The mechanics sound a bit baffled but they have not yet attached the tech 2, just waiting for them to call. The guy said that there were no warning lights coming on when the key was turned, and he thinks it is the ignition switch.
I'm curious though because the LED on the dash does 2 fast blinks at 3 second intervals which i thought meant the car was immobilized.
Any thoughts would be great as I may have to help these guys brain storm :)
Thanks!
