Got it with 40K on it, now almost 98K.
Had a CPO warranty but it hasn't needed much.
Rear shocks, DI cassette, few light bulbs, heater control valve, wiring in steering column, couple other things. Then the normal stuff: oil changes, serp belt, brakes, fluids, filters. Needed a brake booster a few months back. Now needs an A/C evaporator. Been a fine car, though.
No sludge issues, but it has had oil changes every 5K miles since new. The previous owner did highway miles and was a long time Saab owner, so it was cared for. We plan on keeping it several more years.
Get one with a service history, especially oil changes. I'd go for a '04 as those don't have as much potential for sludge. Have any car looked at by a Saab specialist and change the oil with top quality synthetic evey 5K miles.
