Yes, it seems Saab is making inroads in Florida too, one of our local dealers is putting up a fancy new showroom - obviously as a result of increased and/or projected sales. The 9-5 is a great product and if Saab keeps up the aggressive rebate programs, I think sales will continue to increase. I think the sticker prices are too high, but the incentives allow the dealer to offer aggressive leases, financing and purchase deals. These makes Saabs a better deal than the traditional BMW. Now if only they would get rid of or make optional that tin dash on the Aero I might get one! It just galls me to have to spend hundreds to have it replaced. In the meantime I continue to enjoy my '99 9-5 SE that I bought after the lease was up.
So far I know 2 owners (1 BMW and 1 Acura), who passed on the Aero because they found the Plasti/Alu finish of the dash distasteful with the tan interior. Why Saab changed from walnut to save a few bucks is hard to figure. Most of the comments I've read are negative and it has cost them sales. I doubt walnut ever created such controversy.
