That's the only immediate solution to your problem.
The siren is located behind the left turn signal cluster, but access is only via the left front wheelwell.
You undo the screws that hold the front part of the wheel well liner in place. There will be 4-8 of them that you have to remove to gain access.
Once you gain access, the simple solution is to simply disconnect the cable. The siren may still sound (hence the internal battery...), but eventually it'll go silent once the batteries are exhausted.
Or, you can remove the unit. Two screws hold it in. One at the bottom of the unit, head is towards the rear of the car. Second one is off a body tab at the top of the unit. The head is either towards the outboard or inboard side (I forget at the moment).
The car is still secure (the actual "alarm" is part of the TWICE unit. This thing is simply the siren.), though you don't have a siren now, nor a chirp when you lock or unlock the doors. Some models (perhaps all) can have that function (and maybe the alarm "siren") switched over to the horn by a technician using a Tech 2.
