I think the marine caulk would be somewhat unhappy about trying to set up and cure properly in cold weather - I don't have the package in front of me, but as I recall when I did the repair it was the last nice day this Fall, and the temp was in the low 60's, and that was right at the low end of the suggested curing temps.
The Eeuroparts replacement requires you to drop the headliner from the inside; not something I would like to attempt due to the probability that I would either break the little clips or damage the headliner - or both. My local Saab dealer would sell me the Saab replacement dummy sharkfin for about $70, but even he thought the additional 2+ hours of labor to do the job was excessive, given the problem at hand.
My old sharkfin was completely cracked on one side, but wasn't yet leaking as whatever gasket/washer thing goes between the inside of the car and the Onstar antenna is still apparently intact.
FWIW, I did my work in the driveway, as my garage is old and very small and full of "stuff." If the sharkfin comes unglued in the winter, I suppose I will have to go to Plan B - whatever that might be!
