Every once in a while I'll get a pine needle or something fun like that in the blower fan and it makes a little tick tick tick sound for a few days and falls out. Well it's been ticking now for about a month and a half, dependent on fan speed. I've been able to drown it out with the radio so far. Then, yesterday my coworker and I drive into Manhattan to visit a job site. We get back in to drive home and it's ticking like it's its job! So loud! I couldn't even get rid of it with the stereo. Three hours home, sitting in traffic, listening to that... I wanted to drive off the bridge!
I'm pretty sure there's nothing foreign stuck in there. Either the fan cage is broken, or something is rubbing something it shouldn't be. Ever since I got the car it's made this noise with the RECIRC function activated. Now it's there all the time and has gotten much worse. Any opinions?
Also, the ScanTech part is $280. Saab part is outrageous $450 or something. I know Scantech has a bit of a reputation... maybe I should just get a used one? Thanks!
